When you’re in a hospital there are many scary thoughts running through your mind; am I going to be okay? What’s going to happen to me?



Those are normal questions, but you should never have to worry if your doctor or nurse is who they say they are.


This is exactly what happened in Quebec last month. According to CBC News, a woman got away with pretending to be a nurse for 20 years. The woman had been using the license number of an accredited nurse with the same name as her who worked in a different region. The woman who had been impersonating the nurse had no formal schooling or training.


Why is the Verification Process Important? 

As an employer, it is your responsibility to know who you are hiring - not only does this protect your company, but other individuals from being taken advantage of. It is extremely crucial for background checks to be conducted on employees during the hiring process, especially if they will be responsible for looking after the well-being and confidentiality of others.
